I met a new friend two years ago. She shared her life story with me as some do when we listen. She felt as though her life was broken, her kids were struggling in many ways, she was overwhelmed, felt hopeless, and felt as though she was going nowhere. She also suffered from body and back pain to boot. I recognized her need for Jesus, spoke to her about what God did for me and my family, and prayed for her and her family. I prayed for the Lord to restore her family, heal her body, and to bless her. Simple prayers really, and no immediate changes took place that day, but prayers were heard and answered!
I hadn’t seen her since until last Saturday. God put me back in contact with her at a church party where she was working as a caterer and said that her life was so much better. She told me she had lost extra weight, her health was great, her family was doing great, and she had bought a house with her husband. She no longer had the look of pain on her face and was more joyful than I had ever seen her.
Now, I am not so egotistical to think that I had anything to do with this, but I do know someone who did. His name is Jesus Christ. I know this because He did the same work for me and my family and is still working on all of us.
This interaction was another gift in a series of gifts where God has brought back to me, people who I have prayed for in my walks with Him. He shows Himself good and faithful to those who love Him, and He has graced me with revisiting with the ones He healed!
“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.”
Deuteronomy 7:9
God wants blessings restored to us and curses broken. He wants His children to know He is our God and that He truly loves us. And when we are faithful to help our neighbors through prayer and the sharing of God’s goodness in our lives, He honors it by fulfilling His word!
I pray this testimony brings you hope today that your prayers matter and to never underestimate what God will do when you bless, pray, and honor others by sharing the gospel and your own personal testimony of what God did for you.
God is a miracle worker, especially when we get rid of doubt. The world tells us we don’t matter, prayers aren’t meaningful, and we should mind our own business, but God says to love our neighbors as we love ourselves, so the way I see it, their well being IS our business!
Who can you bless and pray for today, especially knowing that:
- God is listening,
- He is faithful,
- Jesus Christ paid for it all on the cross.
When we step out in faith, the Kingdom of God goes to work! Believe it!
Blessings to you this Monday. May the Lord reveal to you His plans for your day and the good things He has prepared for you in it. I didn’t make it up, it’s in His word!
You ARE loved! ❤️
