There is correction coming to the church of Christ and to the world. This is not a threat, nor is it a curse. It is a blessing! For when we, God’s people, receive correction first, we receive truth, either by the word or by the Spirit of our Lord that counters mistruth. These truths set straight our path from an otherwise crooked and perverse one. It allows us to receive the truth of Christ with clearer vision, hearing ears, and a sounder mind. It enables us to help others operate in the world as God intended. It is then our responsibility to bring the same correcting truth to the world that so desperately needs truth in these important days to please or Lord.
There are errors we perceive as truth and correction must first start in the church. In these modern times, our young are being tossed to and fro by false beliefs, perverse values by destructive and demoralizing movies, TV shows, phone apps, and music from the most degenerative entertainers. Our children are being deceived at a greater number than ever before because the instant and easy access to the internet, which holds uncountable perverse information and ideas. Our children’s legal rights are quickly being stripped away for the sake of safety and God’s people are being put back into slavery in ever-renewing attempt by Satan to separate us from God.
my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.
Hosea 4:6
This is not a new plan against humanity, it is indeed quite old. It originated in the garden of eden when the old serpent spoke to make us question God’s truths. He cast doubt into man and seduced us into believing his lies over God’s good truth. Evil and sin has been in the world since and has affected generation after generation. We must never forget where we came from, why we are here, and why we need to receive correction; to save our souls! Our Bible is our guidebook. It holds information of correction and God’s truth that we must hold the highest importance in our lives. It is the word of God and it is considered to be higher than the name(s) of God!
I will worship toward Your holy temple and praise Your name for Your loving-kindness and for Your truth and faithfulness; for You have exalted above all else Your name and Your word and You have magnified Your word above all Your name!

What needs correction?
While, I could try and approach all the mis-guided beliefs and values we have incorporated in the church and deconstruct them against the word of God, but there are so many pioneers who have already done so. There are so many men and women of God who have woven a tapestry of good documented works to reveal the schemes and plans of our enemy. The Bible itself revelates many of the prince of the power of the air’s tactics against man. We must learn what these threats are by studying the scriptures, self-examination and deploying the proven strategies learned by saints who came before us. We must review the stories of biblical lives whose words God himself breathed into our Bible, along with the mentors and mighty men of God who lead us by example of laying down their lives so we may live and not die (Romans 6:23).
It is not difficult to see the ways many in the Church of Christ have compromised doctrine with the ways of the world. We have replaced God’s truths with man’s theology and opinions. Modern man may believe (erroneously) that science and philosophy explains everything, but if you speak to any professional or dedicated scientist or studied philosophist, they will reveal to you that their life-long studies only present more questions than answers. The deepest knowledge of our world and our lives, our Lord keeps deeply hidden in secrets. He then reveals those secrets to those He chooses.
The rebellious have given themselves over to occult learning and studies to try to learn more about the unseen, the unexplainable, and the supernatural, only to find themselves completely yielded to doctrines of demons. This is not the way to eternal life! Jesus Christ is the door, the path, the way, and the light to the truth. Yet, our society looks upon God and His truths as foolishness with their acquired knowledge and wisdom makes them believe they are wise, but only in their own minds.
So where do we start with correction? We start in the word of God, our Bible. Each of us must return to study of the word so we may understand God’s purpose for our lives and how to live, how to love, how to obey, and how to bring heaven to earth. We must also learn to give and take correction with direct relationship with God.
With the word of God, we examine ourselves and yield to Jesus when we find something that isn’t lining up with His word. We must also listen to God’s apostles, prophets, teachers, and pastors, seeking truth while listening with the intent of changing and repentance and choosing not to be offended. Our main question to them should be: “how can I follow Christ better?”.
While I have heard some in the church say “people know their sin and shouldn’t be told of what it is”, which is a dangerous precedent and I don’t completely agree with this practice. There are many who simply do not know what it is keeping them from the closest relationship with Christ they can have. Sometimes it’s unrepentant sin, but sometimes it’s a misunderstanding in their mind about what is true that keep hindering evil spirits active in their lives. Perhaps it is hindering belief or idea they may have about a past event, trauma, abuse, or unresolved hurt that is unresolved, unforgiven, and unhealed. How will people know what is against them if they are not made aware of their belief in a lie when they are unable to hear the voice of God for themselves? This is where an accurate word of knowledge from God can help with correction. Prophets and pastors or prophetic people who clearly hear from God (via the Holy Spirit), can be the catalyst in this interaction for those who cannot hear as clearly as they.
We must always remember, that none of us are perfect. We all sinned (Romans 6:23). We all might have logs or splinters in our eyes that block us from seeing clearly what is in our brother’s eye (Matt. 7:3-5), but we must be honest and faith-filled with sharing the words of knowledge we receive with others about the correction needed. This, so we may sharpen each other and strengthen one another against the tactics and plans of the enemy. This is the truth of correction each of us in the body of Christ must desire in our hearts to have and learn to accept so we may be found ready for the day of salvation that is ahead.
and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”
Mark 1:15
When the body of Christ can receive, accept, and repent with correction, we will be stronger as a church. We can then go in all the world and help those who cannot help themselves. If we choose not to correct ourselves in the church first, then we lose all credibility with the world, because we are not listening to God either. We must choose to appreciate correction, to embrace God’s truths, and to trust the Lord want us to share His truths to the world. Above all, we must correct each other with mercy, grace, and love and in full submission to our Lord Jesus Christ.
