For this 2020 Fourth of July, My family and I decided to drive through Kansas City, Kansas to see the fireworks from our car. Fireworks were illegal in our town, but apparently were okay in the county located to the North of us.
As we drove North from Shawnee on I-35, towards I-635, we were awestruck by the sheer number of small fireworks displays and amounts of smoke filling the air. These small displays turned out to be homes in various neighborhoods and the fireworks they ignited appeared very similar to those seen in much larger displays. We were seeing the most amount of small fireworks displays we had ever seen in our entire lifetimes, all at once.
This raised a few questions for me, were the prices lower this year? Were the fireworks easier to obtain? These were not the typical low grade fireworks, they were large arial types that lit up entire neighborhoods, which also happened to be some of the lowest income areas of KCK. Low income or not, everyone had their entire streets littered with firework launch tubes and smaller burned-through fireworks. A thick gray smokey haze covered the entire local area and all through the river valley we drove as we continued to I-70 then over to southbound I-435 of Kansas City Kansas. Firework smoke haze was still visible the next day and today, Monday, July 6th, 2020.
Masks and Coronavirus
All over America, similar, massive displays of fireworks were consumed and enjoyed by the masses. The most many of us had ever seen in our lifetimes. The end result of these Chinese manufactured fireworks was the release of massive amounts of toxins in the air, and the air quality in every major area of the United States was degraded. Weather.com indicated that the air quality in our area was “unhealthy” for the following day.
These massive pyrotechnic displays occurred during the worldwide pandemic of the coronavirus/covid-19 outbreaks, which now require people to wear masks everywhere they go. State and local laws have been changed to require these masks when in public and when in confined spaces in the retail shopping locations. So why were we not warned about fireworks and their effects on human health, when everyone is donning masks to protect their lungs from a nano-sized molecule named SARS-COV-2?

Why did the our United States government and health officials not recognize this as a threat to human safety? Why were there so many firework and illegal fireworks available to the United States this year?
Did We Make A Mistake?
Our freedom may have caused us to make an egregious mistake. We have caused our air to be filled with pollutants, thereby lowering our bodies natural ability to fight sickness and infection because of our penchant for fireworks. This year seemed to be the best year for fireworks, as many people have reported the cheapest fireworks at most fireworks stands. One can easily speculate that these cheaper fireworks may have been subsidized. If so, by whom?
Symptoms Increase
If you notice symptoms of a runny nose, burning throat, sore throat, and perhaps develop a sinus or respiratory infection because of the smoke inhalation, remember, it is not likely the covid-19 virus. The CDC, however, recently added three new symptoms to their list already lengthy list for covid-19 on June 25th. One of these symptoms is runny nose/congestion. Cough and sore throat have already been on the list.

Today, Monday, July 6th, 2020, I non-supernaturally and unscientifically predict that all areas of the United States where there were large uses of 4th of July fireworks and displays will experience an increase in covid-19-like symptoms such as runny nose, sore throat and headaches that will cause them to run to the covid-19 testing facilities or locations to be tested out of fear. I also predict there will be another increase in positive test results that show our country having massive new cases of this coronavirus. However, these tests, in my humble opinion, and the opinions of other more substantial sources will produce unnecessary fear in the population, but will likely be false. If the United States does indeed experience and increase of actual covid-19 illnesses, causing sickness and death, then we may have a larger issue than I care to present in this article or any other. Not because of fear, but because this is expected.

I wrote this blog post to point out what seemed to me to be obvious and not to cause fear or panic. The media won’t likely report this situation. The masks we are now required to wear are not effective if we choose to poison our own air with explosive gases of fireworks. And as much as I love fireworks displays, it doesn’t change the fact that fireworks that cause respiratory issues during a pandemic that affects the respiratory system is a medical failure of monument-sized proportion. I am thankful this holiday is over, but the repercussions of this will likely soon be widely seen and felt. I pray that those reading this will seek the truth, not hide from it and look to the one who saves for comfort and peace in these times. You are loved.
