Our hearts bear witness to God for our lives. When we love others in deed and truth, we please God, but if we only live in words, our hearts will reveal it.
“My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.”
I John 3:18-21 NKJV
Isn’t that amazing? God put a heart in us as a verifier, a recording device per se, to our obedience to Him. The Word says that when our hearts do not condemn us, it’s God’s good pleasure to give us whatever we ask for. And when we do not do what is commanded of us or do it in word or in tongue only, essentially making us hypocrites, our hearts will not allow Him to do what we ask for, because our hearts testify against us.
“Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.I John 3:21-23 NKJV
And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.”
So we must ask Him, our Father in Heaven, do our hearts condemn us today? Are we being obedient to you?
If not, it’s time to humble ourselves, repent, and ask Him for His forgiveness and change our ways. Even so, we must know that God loves us and does forgive us. In truth, the debts are paid for by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Each day we live, we get an opportunity to serve. What is it that God is asking of you today? Is there someone you can call or text to encourage? Is there anyone in need? Do you know if your elderly neighbors are doing okay? If so, there’s still plenty to do and praise Jesus for that!
I pray the Lord shows you those things that may be hindering your prayers. I pray you see that each day is a glorious gift given to us to be in relationship with Him to see each other through this lifetime, together. Let’s share our lives with one another and give all we’ve got to give to glorify Jesus in every opportunity He gives us.
