Proxy (noun):

  • the agency, function, or power of a person authorized to act as the deputy or substitute for another.
  • the person so authorized; substitute; agent.
  • a written authorization empowering another person to vote or act for the signer, as at a meeting of stockholders.
  • an ally or confederate who can be relied upon to speak or act in one’s behalf.

It is written in Acts 5 that when Peter’s shadow fell on the ground, those who faithfully placed their loved ones in his physical proximity witnessed their loved one healed by the very shadow of Peter. Was Peter aware of every person that was healed through his faithfulness to walk through the area? Can God use us to heal and to bring miracles to others though our very bodies and at times without our knowledge? I say yes!

“so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.”

Acts‬ ‭5:15-16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I have personally witnessed (at a later time) God use me (without my knowledge at the moment) to deliver and heal another person. I am not claiming that people were healed or delivered because of me, but I am saying they were healed because of WHO is in me. That’s not a made up truth, it’s the gospel. It is by faith. Doubters may laugh and haters may scoff, but those who walk in the spirit of God know the truth, that Christians, those who walk with Jesus, are never alone.

Jesus Inside

“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

I John‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Let’s not put limits on God’s power to use us. Even a simple act of making a phone call or text message to a new friend, talking with a stranger you just met, lending a helping hand, reaching out to touch another in an act of kindness, or giving to another in an act of generosity by faith can reveal God’s ultimate plan to a lost person or a person who is lacking in faith. And when you pray with them – wow! The things that God can do through your obedience to Him can startle and amaze you!

Believers! When you walk into a hospital, a building, a grocery store, or an apartment building, a church, or any secular place, do you know that you carry the very Kingdom of God with you?

With the power and authority God has given to His children, you can pray for healing, command evil spirits to leave, and help others feel the presence of God in their lives by your very presence.

“And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’”

Luke‬ ‭10:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

For you ARE a healer, a dead raiser, and a deliverer by proxy. As a born-again, Jesus believing Christian, you represent Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God wherever you put your feet. Your faith in what God can do through you should not be in you, however, but in the spirit that God has placed in you when you were baptized in water and the spirit (John 3:5). That spirit is the very spirit of Jesus Christ and through Him all things are possible.

Proxy of Jesus

Can healing, deliverance, miracles and greater be done by proxy? Yes! It is how it always has been done. It is not the man Jesus uses who heals, but His very spirit indwelling in the man that will perform the word of God in situations we may not even be aware of, to heal, deliver, and set captives free!

I pray that you have indeed received the Holy Spirit by His spirit baptism. If you have any doubt that Jesus is with you right now in spirit, you should pray this prayer:

Prayer to receive the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ:
“Lord Jesus Christ, I am now aware that my sins have separated me from you and from the eternal life which you have promised to those who believe. I repent of my sins and turn to you in faith for the salvation and forgiveness you won for me on the cross through the shedding of your blood even when I was yet a sinner and without merit before God. I surrender my life to you. Come into my heart and be the Lord of my Life. Be my Savior and my King. Live in me and through me so that I can truly represent you in my service to others in your Name. Amen.”

Reference: Acts 2:38

If you have prayed this prayer and felt the Holy Spirit fill you, you’re in good hands for eternity! If you have not, than there is nothing stopping you from receiving Him this very minute. What are you waiting for? He is worth it all!

“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Romans‬ ‭10:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

More than Shadows

We walk with a great calling and when submitted to God, we can do mighty things, not just with our shadows, but with our hearts and minds. When we reveal Christ to others through our lives by loving, forgiving, helping, healing, and encouraging others, we truly reveal Christ’s light to the world. We are the salt of the world God can use as He pleases to season it. With our faith in Him, we can do mighty works, if we can only accept that God will do the things His word says He will by faith. Is anything too hard for the Lord?

Blessings to you this evening. May the Lord reveal His eternal grace and mercy to you now and offer His encouragement to have faith in every situation and hope in Jesus Christ. May you fully comprehend and understand the authority and power you presently walk in when you go about your seemingly normal, every day walk in the world. Those who know where their authority and power comes from may walk in it to perform the mighty works that Jesus Christ did and even greater, because He is with you!

You are loved! ❤️

““Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”

John‬ ‭14:12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
