Through belief in Jesus Christ, He calls us children:
“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,” John 1:12
Through obedience to Jesus Christ, He call us friends:
“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” John 15:15
Through the sharing of Christ’s sufferings, He calls us heirs:
“Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” Romans 8:17
Through faith in Christ Jesus, He calls us sons:
“For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.” Galatians 3:26
Through His sonship, we are gods:
“I said, ‘You are “gods”; you are all sons of the Most High.’” Psalms 82:6, John 10:34
God thinks quite highly of you, you should know how valuable you are to Him. Through belief, faith, obedience, sufferings, and the process of sonship, you are meant to be His. He has chosen you and you are His treasure:
“For you are a people holy to the Lord your God, and the Lord has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.” Deuteronomy 14:2
Through Christ, you are blessed:
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.”
