God gave our bodies an immune system to battle against the things that try to make us sick. As of late, it is under the biggest attack our generations have ever seen. There is an unseen war going on against our immune systems everyday! Are you aware of the enemy’s battle plan? Are you aware of what causes our immune systems to be weakened? Are you aware that you are in charge of your body’s immune system to keep it healthy?
You can’t help or prevent what others do, but you can do whatever it takes to keep yourself ready for any bacteria, virus, or disease that may come your way. It’s true! If our society is so worried about people getting sick from covid-19, why aren’t immune system killers being talked about more in the media, on social media and by our medical system so we can fight them?
Our media-fueled response to the pandemic is causing us to get sick!
Pandemic of Stress

It’s a fact that alcohol and drug consumption has increased and everybody is on edge because of the constant barrage of negative news that is streamed into our homes and pushed into our minds by every news channel and media outlet. This constant negative news cycle has led many of us, to eat worse foods and have worse eating patterns and habits than we normally would allow our selves to have.
In our feeble attempt to reduce this stress, we comfort ourselves by eating foods that are richer in flavor, but much worse for our health. With the lockdown, we also have stopped getting regular exercise and picked up bad habits that keep us sedentary like sleeping in and staying up late, watching excessive TV, and forgoing exercise to stay comfortable. The stress induced by the pandemic has also caused a great deal of people to lose sleep, become insomniacs, and fight each night to get a good night of sleep before starting the warfare all over again the next day. Our media-fueled response to the pandemic is causing us to get sick!
When we focus on what strengthens our immune system instead of what weakens it, won’t we be better for it? Yes! To strengthen the immune system, we must review what harms it. We have all learned this at some point, right? It’s time to review!
Immune Killers
- Stress & Anxiety
- Loneliness and Isolation
- Lack of exercise / sedentary lifestyle
- Alcohol abuse
- Prescription medication use
- Drug abuse
- Pessimistic/negative attitude
- Poor diet
- Poor sleep
- No praise and worship
If we know these things harm our immune system, we can also recognize that our media is causing many of these things to happen in such a great frequency, is it any wonder why people are getting sick, even in the middle of summer where infirmities of all kinds are usually reduced?
Our response to the pandemic is causing us great stress and causing us to be lonely and isolated. Our friends and family have taken to sedentary lifestyle changes with the gyms closing. It seems everyone has gained some amount of extra weight, which also reduces our immune system!
It’s time to repent and take back our health!
Declare War!
It is time for all of us to declare war on immune system killers!
- Turn off your TV and any news media outlet that spews lies and stress into your eyes and ears. Psalm 112:7
- Worry about NOTHING! Philippians 4:6-7
- Destroy isolation and loneliness by reaching out to talk to people wherever you are! Be kind and say hello or give someone a compliment (not false flattery). Open up doors, help each other up, do unto others, and smile!
- Get moving! Find something you enjoy doing (that is active) and start doing it regularly.
- Let’s face the truth, alcohol and drugs are poisonous toxins. It’s best to avoid them, especially if you are already stressed, lest your immune system suffers.
- Be aware of the prescription medication side-effects and their potential harm to your immune system. Can you quit them? Are there healthier alternatives?
- Avoid sugary, salty, overly processed foods that make your body work hard to get rid of them. Our bodies are temples, would you throw a box of donuts and a 2-liter bottle of Diet Coke into the sanctuary of your local church or the Temple of God?
- Stay positive! Seek positivity in every situation. Stay focused on good things and you will be rewarded with joy.
- Sleep well each day, but don’t overdo it. Be aware of what causes sleep deprivation through insomnia and avoid food, alcohol or TV or video before bed.
- Give and praise and worship, often and throughout each day. An attitude of thankfulness and a mouthful of praise is important to keep your immune system healthy and thriving.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Philippians 4:6
Prayer
Heavenly father, I thank you for keeping me healthy. I thank you for keeping my body’s immune system in the palm of your hand. I thank you that your Holy Spirit will guide me to all truths to educate me on the way in which I am to go when it comes to my health and my body. Lord, I ask for you to help me now.
I declare now that You already have the victory over this world and now I am asking for angels to minister health and healing to my mind, body, heart and soul. Lead me to springs of living water, fill my vessel, and fill my cup overflowing! May any infirmity that is trying to cling to my doorway be exposed and destroyed! May my mind be filled with good thought and my mouth filled with worship and praise of you Almighty Father!
Thank you Lord for keeping me in perfect health. Thank you for continuing to remove any burden from me and for restoring my physical health completely. Thank you that by His stripes, I AM healed!
In the Mighty name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen!
In Christ,
